His gorgeous clothes are worn Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria (the list goes on, but you get the idea). And here I am, sitting in Maggie’s Edinburgh one Saturday afternoon, a teeny bit hungover and a little pink in the cheeks, in my M&S jacket and jeggings, talking to this mesmerisingly handsome fashion icon about FiftyFigs.
As a Maggie’s ambassador, Roland Mouret was at the centre for the second year running with make up artist Damian Garozzo, Jane Davidson and editor of L'Officiel, Patrick Cabasset. It was an informal, drop in session to chat about fashion and make up followed by a glitzy fundraiser the following day at Carlowrie Castle. It’s really something to have such high profile support; he’s helped Maggie’s raise well over £110,000 and popping over to Edinburgh, right on the eve of Paris Fashion Week, must have been quite a challenge.
For a variety of reasons, by the time I reached the centre the session was over and I was pretty gutted. However, Roland hadn’t actually left the building; he was incredibly kind and warm, patiently sat me down, listened to my chat, gave me advice and support and a massive bear hug.
Needless to say, I skipped out of Maggie’s, brimming with confidence, hangover gone, sun shining.
Merci beaucoup, M. Mouret!
